Friends on the net:-
Fat Cat Records - My mate Duncan Sumpner records under the name 'Songs of Green Pheasant'. His first official album was released on CD on the 12th September 2005 on Fat Cat Records. One of my prints 'Archer on the Slopes' has been used as the cover and I created an ilustration for his second album 'Gyllyng Street'.

Finkfurniture is the brainchild of Finbar Lucas, whose training in both furniture-making and fine art gives a unique edge to his designs.
Whilst working in South-East Asia he found himself afflicted with a kind of insomnia caused by designing furniture in his head. "As soon as I returned I was boiling to get started, and with help from the Prince's Trust I was soon able to leave my part-time job and launch Finkfurniture as a full-time concern."
Now in our third year, we are growing rapidly and are planning to move to a larger workshop in central Sheffield soon. This website is regularly updated with new work, so bookmark us now to keep informed of developments, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

The web-log of my brother Alexander Dyas.

Favourite Illustrators:-
D'Israeli aka Matt Brooker - Matt is the artist on "Scarlett Traces" one of the best British Sci-Fi strips published in recent years.
Scarlet Traces was first printed over 3 issues in the 2000AD Megazine in late 2002. It showcases Matts restrained use of computer colouring which (in contrast to most fantasy strips) never clouds the drawings up with gratuitous, sparkly effects.
Yves Chaland - A French comic artist who followed in the footsteps of Herge.
Rian Hughes - Superb all round designer. Creates fantastic fonts and his illustrations always have great colours. If you are not already aware of his work you will be indirectly as his style has been copied relentlessly over the last few years.
Max - A spanish illustrator featured on the site of his American publisher Drawn & Quarterly.
Steven Martin - Steven is the author of Terrible Sunrise a fantastic series based around the events that caused the 1st World War. You can read reviews of the issues here and here.
Bruce Timm - In being responsible for the look of "Batman: The Animated Adventures" Timm created a mass market product that referenced, amongst many things, German Expressionism. Pretty good for a cartoon aimed at the Saturday morning kids TV.
The style of the show also pays homage to pretty much all of the best comic artists such as Alex Toth, Jack Kirby and the Fleischer brothers Superman cartoons.

Weblogs I follow:-
Pete Ashton - A promoter of small press comics (self published comics created by amatuers & semi-professionals) Pete always has something interesting to say or recommend.
Number 6 blog - My brothers posts things about programming in Unix. Goes over my head but I still read it.
