Throughout his life William Blake (1757 - 1827) created a number of illustrated books using an unusual method whereby each page was etched & printed from a single copper plate. And as the examples here show due to the long period of time that these copper plates had to be submerged in the etching acid much of the type ended up looking subtley spoiled and corroded.

In creating a font based on Blakes work (using Scanfont and Typetool) I will be sticking to one particular period as over his life time the type changed.

Once the font is completed it will be free to download from this site after which I may create further fonts based on other periods of his working life.
